Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted Venezuela’s socialist leader Nicolás Maduro’s “days of tyranny are numbered.”

Cruz’s comments came in a tweet on Tuesday. The Trump administration has frozen all Venezuelan government assets. President Donald Trump signed an executive order justifying the action on Monday.

Cruz hailed the president’s move.

He wrote: “This is the right thing to do. Maduro is an illegitimate dictator; his failed policies have inflicted poverty, suffering & starvation on millions of innocent Venezuelans; and his days of tyranny are numbered.”
