Turkey, US Sign Deal to Train, Equip Syria Rebels: Officials

The United States and Turkey on Thursday signed a deal to train and equip Syrian rebel forces, officials told AFP.

"I can confirm that the agreement was signed this evening in Ankara," a US embassy spokesman told AFP.

A government said the deal was inked by Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu and US Ambassador to Ankara John Bass.
