US stocks tumbled Thursday as another big drop in Chinese stocks spurred more worries about the world's second-largest economy and triggered another wave of selling across global equity markets.

At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down about 2.3 percent. The S&P 500 fell 2.4 percent and the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index sank 3.0 percent.
