Fox News host Sean Hannity Friday took to Twitter to defend Reza Aslan after he was fired by CNN for a profane post about President Donald Trump.
Here's the post from Hannity, a longtime Trump supporter:
CNN on Friday dismissed Aslan, 45, the Iranian-American author and religious scholar, who is the host of its non-fiction "Believer" series, after he called Trump a "piece of s---" in a tweet after the London attacks.
Aslan had slammed the president for using the assaults to reinforce his call for a travel ban to seven Muslim-majority countries.
"CNN has decided to not move forward with production on the acquired series 'Believer with Reza Aslan,'" the network said in a statement. "We wish Reza and his production team all the best."
Days later, however, Aslan apologized for the tweet, which had been deleted.
"I should have used better language to express my shock and frustration at the president’s lack of decorum and sympathy for the victims of London," he said. "I apologize for my choice of words."
