Sarkozy Could Still Win

Socialist candidate Francois Hollande won the first round of voting in France’s presidential election on Sunday, beating President Nicolas Sarkozy by a small margin. It was just as the polls had predicted, but was still a shock, given that it was the first time in the history of the Fifth Republic that an incumbent president had lost in the first round. Most observers are predicting that Hollande will go on to win the second round and be elected the next president of France. But there’s still hope for Sarkozy.
