There is no doubt that Iran was behind attacks that destroyed Saudi oil facilities last weekend, and now, the United States should lay out the evidence that points to the guilty party and ask the countries still involved in the Obama-era nuclear deal how they can continue to back the agreement, Sen. Marco Rubio said Thursday.
"This proves why the Iran deal was so flawed," the Florida Republican told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "The Iran deal allows Iran to go ahead to continue to build missiles they used in the attack."
President Donald Trump was right to get out of the Iran deal, said Rubio.
"What we need to do, the most crippling sanction we can impose, in addition to ones already in place, is to lay out the world, evidence, unmistakable evidence and turn to the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) countries and ask how can you continue to preserve and back a deal that pays Iran to be able to continue to do these sorts of attacks," said the senator.
He further accused countries who say they have doubts that Iran was behind the bombings of lying.
"They know for a fact it was Iran," he said. "They don't want to admit it because they have to do something about it...the Houthis don't have the missiles. Where they landed are indicative of an attack from southwest Iran."
Iran fears open conflict with the United States, as they know they can't win, and hey fear the continuation of Trump's sanctions and international backing of the sanctions.
