Obamacare is jeopardizing Democratic seats in the House and Senate while the party's leaders continue to defend the struggling new healthcare law, Karl Rove says.
"For the president and key Democratic supporters, the website rollout was a glitch that should not detract from a wondrous and politically potent healthcare overhaul," the former deputy chief of staff to former President George W. Bush
wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed Thursday.

Rove said claims by President Barack Obama that Obamacare is failing because Republicans won't cooperate, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's statement that Democrats will stand with the president defending the healthcare reforms, "are delusional," he said.
The Republican strategist cites polls in which the favorability numbers for the new healthcare law have plunged in the month since the rollout began, just as the president's own approval ratings plummet.
"All this explains the actions of 39 House Democrats who broke ranks with the White House Friday to vote for a GOP proposal to allow people to permanently keep their health plans if they like them, never mind Obamacare," Rove wrote.
They are clearly worried that falling support for Obamacare could reflect "something very similar" that could happen at the ballot box "next November."
"Mr. Obama and his closest congressional allies seem blind to this," Rove said. "They keep telling the public to look at the law's fantastic benefits. But these benefits have failed to move public opinion in the president's direction."
