Roseanne Barr's talent agency has dropped her in the wake of her racially charged tweet that resulted in her TV show being canceled.
According to Deadline Hollywood, ICM Partners decided to sever ties with Barr.
"We are all greatly distressed by the disgraceful and unacceptable tweet from Roseanne Barr this morning," members of ICM leadership wrote to employees. "What she wrote is antithetical to our core values, both as individuals and as an agency. Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her. Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client."
Barr posted this message Monday that she later deleted:
"Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj."
"VJ" was short for Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser in the Obama administration. Barr deleted the tweet and later apologized, but ABC responded Tuesday by canceling her "Roseanne" TV show that relaunched earlier this year.
Barr tweeted these messages Tuesday morning, a short time before news broke that her show would no longer be on the air:
Barr played herself, a conservative, in her TV show. ABC planned, however, to move the sitcom away from political issues for next season.
