Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has been asked to stay on for a second two-year term, President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday night.
"As RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel oversaw history-defying gains in the Senate and unprecedented fundraising strength. I have asked her to serve another term for my 2020 re-elect, because there is no one better for the job!" he said.
McDaniel, who was elected RNC chair in 2017, replacing Reince Priebus, was originally asked to serve a second term by Trump in October following a year of record-breaking fundraising for the GOP.
The RNC pulled in $16 million in August, surpassing $250 million for the pivotal midterm elections. Under McDaniel, the RNC has repeatedly outraised the Democratic National Committee.
Trump has also been impressed with McDaniel's work on behalf of the America First Agenda the primary super PAC dedicated to electing federal candidates who support Trump and Vice President Mike Pence's agenda.
