Rep. Robert Pittenger, R-N.C., said a report former President Barack Obama's administration derailed an anti-Hezbollah task force is "very disconcerting."
"It's very disconcerting that the president stepped forward and took the initiative to have this prevented, so his very misguided Iran deal could be completed," Pittenger said Wednesday on Fox News.
The report Pittenger referenced was posted on Politico on Monday.
The anti-Hezbollah force was "impeded, blocked, prevented" by the Obama administration, Pittenger said in the interview.
The congressman also criticized Obama for not using the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" to describe ISIS terrorists.
"Our young men and women were on the front line dying, fighting for our freedom against ISIS, and he wouldn't even call out terrorists," Pittenger said in the Fox News interview.
Pittenger issued a statement to Fox News on Monday calling for an investigation into the Politico report's claims.
