President Donald Trump, quoting Puerto Rico's Gov. Ricardo Rossello as saying the administration has delivered every time they've spoken, said "big decisions will have to be made" about the cost of rebuilding the hurricane-ravaged island.
Trump's comments came in two tweets on Friday morning.
The tweets followed Rossello's interview on CNN's "New Day."
Rossello said the administration has been responding to his requests.
"Within the limitations, all hands on deck," he said. "That's what's important. And recognizing that, you know, the different components of the National Guard, the military, FEMA and our government are working together on the priorities.
"Certainly, there is a lot of work to do over here. We really need to increase the delivery rates. We really need to enhance our logistics.
"FEMA has been on the phone virtually all the time with me checking out how things are going. This morning alone, I had a conversation with our generals seeing how much of the capabilities and we are increasing more than 1,000 personnel that's coming over here. Just on the generals' side."
Later Friday morning, Trump tweeted again, thanking FEMA and breezily saying "See you Tuesday!" to Puerto Rico.
