By    |   Tuesday, 05 March 2024 01:03 PM EST

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., holds a slim 3-point lead over Democrat challenger Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, according to a new survey from Public Policy Polling.

The poll was funded by EMILY's List, which has endorsed Mucarsel-Powell in the Florida Senate race, The Hill noted.

The two candidates are effectively tied in the poll since the margin of error is 3.5 percentage points, The Hill reported.

Poll results:

  • 44% of likely voters say they favor Scott; 41% support Mucarsel-Powell.
  • 53% say they think it's time to elect someone new for Scott's Senate seat.
  • 34% say they approve of the job Scott is doing in the Senate, while 44% disapprove.
  • 63% say they are unsure about their thoughts on Mucarel-Powell, a former U.S. representative.

The poll, conducted Feb. 29 and March 1, surveyed 790 Florida voters.
