Survey: Most Say Country's Mood is 'Everyone For Themselves'

Almost two-thirds of Americans said the mood of the country is "everyone for themselves" in a new poll.

The results of the latest The Economist/YouGov survey show that 65 percent of U.S. adults replied that it's every man and woman for themselves in today's society.

Some findings in the in-depth survey that covered several topics:

• 15 percent said the mood of the country is "we're all in it together."
• 70 percent of Democrats said the mood of the country is "it's everyone for themselves," while 61 percent of Republicans said so.
• 54 percent disapprove of the job President Donald Trump is doing, while 38 percent approve.
• 63 percent said humans are causing climate change, while 29 percent said it is changing but humans are not causing it.
• 50 percent said Trump's decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement will make the U.S. less respected by other countries.
• 57 percent said it is not appropriate for Trump to use his personal cell phone for communicating with other world leaders.
