A former baseball prospect for the New York Yankees was arrested Monday after threatening to shoot police officers.
Leonel Vinas pitched 14 games in the Yankees' farm system in 2011. According to the NY. Post, he was prevented from boarding a flight at JFK Airport bound for the Dominican Republican after posting this caption on an Instagram photo:
"Here's a message. I am going to the Dominican Republic. The first cop that stops me, is either getting shot or getting hi-jack."
Police arrested him at the airport. He was arraigned Tuesday and was being held in jail in lieu of posting a bail of $10,000.
The Instagram post in question does not appear on his feed, but there is a photo from Monday of him standing in front of a Port Authority Police Department car at what seemed like an airport parking lot.
The image carried this caption:
"So missions ahead. Doing gods work on mother earth. She needs major healing from this war that just ended. It's time for human to unite as one and reign the earth. There's no slavery, there's no more capitalism, there's no more hate on earth. This is a peaceful planet. Welcome to the 1st YUGA. All love. 8132018."
