Martin Shkreli, known for hiking up the prices of life-saving medication before he was charged with fraud in 2015, has had his account on Twitter suspended after he was accused of harassing Teen Vogue writer Lauren Duca on the social media platform, Buzzfeed reports.
Duca is known for penning a Teen Vogue opinion piece titled "Donald Trump is Gaslighting America," which argued that the president-elect had lied to the American Public and manipulated them into questioning their own beliefs and sanity.
Her article ran on Dec. 10. Since then, Shkreli has been tweeting about trying to date her. He also direct messaged her with an invitation to Trump’s inauguration – a note she screen-grabbed and posted on her account with the response "I would rather eat my own organs."
On Sunday, Duca noticed he took things a step further by changing his profile centerpiece to include a collage of photos of Duca with the words, "For Better or Worse, Til Death do Us Part, I'll Love You With Every Single Beat of my Heart," printed over it.
He also Photoshopped his face over the face of her husband’s in a photo he took from her Twitter profile picture and made it his own profile photo.
Duca reported it to Twitter, and within hours Shkreli’s account had been suspended.
Shkreli told The Verge that he didn’t see his actions as harassment.
