A majority of Republicans and GOP-leaning voters say they’re embarrassed or concerned by President Donald Trump’s rhetoric, a new survey found.
In the Pew Research Center survey on the state of public discourse in the country, released Wednesday, 59% of Republicans and GOP-leaning voters said the president’s remarks sometimes make them feel concerned; 53% said they feel embarrassed; 41% said they feel exhausted by the rhetoric, 47% said the remarks are sometimes confusing; while 37% said the rhetoric makes them angry.
On the other hand, 79% of Republicans said they often or sometimes feel hopeful after Trump speaks; 78% said they feel entertained; and 76% said they felt informed and happy, the survey found.
The survey’s margin of error on the sample of Republican and lean-GOP group is 2.2 percentage points.
