After NBC announced on Monday Obama's plans to go on a "wild" journey with Bear Grylls on the show "Running Wild," PETA issued a harsh rebuke of the president's plans, The Washington Times reports.

PETA, referring to Bear Grylls as a "speciesist" noted on Twitter three reasons President Obama should not participate on the show:

The show puts survival skills of A-list celebrities to the test. On one episode a woman killed a pig and ate a mouse soaked in urine.

Mediaite notes that this is not the first time PETA has protested the actions of survivalist Bear Grylls.

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk says this show is the "last place for the 44th president to be seen. There are far better ways to get the message about global climate change out than by appearing on this disgusting, degenerate show."
