A number of police officers that patrol Arlington National Cemetery have reportedly been suspended after photos showed a group of officers pretending to attack a fellow officer.
Fox 5 TV in Washington D.C. released the photo with blurred faces because the base has not confirmed whether the officers have violated any policies, a base source told the TV station. The photo shows seven officers.
Officials at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall are investigating, a police department source told Fox 5.
A source within the base showed the photos to Fox 5, saying the officers took them on Thanksgiving Day while on duty at the cemetery.
Base spokesman Michael Howard told Fox 5 TV that at least two of the officers are on administrative duty and that the officers were "horsing around."
The incident became "unprofessional behavior," Howard said in the Fox 5 report.
The photos show officers smiling and laughing while pretending to beat up one officer, who is on his knees being held down by two others. One officer is holding a baton and the other appears to be holding pepper spray, according to the Daily Mail.
