Gallup: Obama Trails Romney By 1

President Barack Obama has made across the board gains in Gallup’s tracking poll and now trails GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney by just a point among likely voters.

Romney had led among likely voters 51 to 46 percent before the poll was suspended. Among registered voters, where the two were tied, Obama now leads 49 to 46 percent. Obama’s approval rating also improved, going from 51 to 52 percent.

Obama has received high marks for his handling of the Hurricane Sandy that smashed into New Jersey and New York and politicians from both sides of the aisle have praised him, most notably Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., a top Romney surrogate.
