Israeli Embassy Releases Obama Bobblehead Video Touting Friendship

By    |   Wednesday, 20 March 2013 11:54 AM EDT

Bobbleheaded U.S. President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are featured in a video the Israeli Embassy has released to tout the countries’ friendship as Obama visits the Middle East.

The Washington embassy set its short video to “Thank You For Being a Friend,” the theme song to the 1980s sitcom “The Golden Girls.” In it, Obama and Netanyahu are shown shaking hands and talking at a podium, after Air Force One heads overseas.

Story continues below video.

“The bonds between the United States and Israel are unbreakable,” Obama intones on the video. “And the commitment between the U.S. and Israel is iron-clad.”

The video also shows the world leaders shaking hands at Netanyahu’s home, and ends with the phrase “The United States and Israel: Ultimate Allies.”

This is not the first time the Israeli Embassy produced a video showing world leaders as cartoon figures. In November, the embassy released a holiday video, “A Dinner for Peace,” featuring bobblehead figures of Obama, along with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and others waiting in vain for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to join them.

Both videos last for under one minute.
