Cain: White House’s Shifting Comments on Libya Show 'Failure of Leadership'

The Obama administration’s conflicting comments about whether the terrorist killings of four Americans in Libya earlier this month were an organized attack amounts to a “failure of leadership,” says former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.

The latest development in the story came Wednesday, when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the United Nations that terrorist groups, including al-Qaida, are operating out of Northern Mali. “And they are working with other violent extremists to undermine the democratic transitions underway in North Africa, as we tragically saw in Benghazi,” where the Americans were killed.

Cain’s not too impressed with President Barack Obama on this one. “The fact that the president has skipped intelligence briefings, the fact that his administration had multiple stories, different stories coming from different corners of the administration, shows that the President was not engaged or leading on this issue,” the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO told Sean Hannity of Fox News Wednesday night.

“And now they're finally admitting that it was planned, coordinated, and a terrorist attack. Now all of a sudden they're finally coming out. It's simply a failure of leadership, period.”
