Former first lady Michelle Obama will "never" seek political office, former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, who served in the Obama administration, told CNN on Monday.
"Let me very clear: It will never happen," Jarrett said in an interview with CNN's Alisyn Camerota, according to The Hill. "She has committed her life to public service. And she's going to use her incredible platform to be a force for good, but not in politics.
"You can bank on that," she added. "She's been very clear on that subject."
Michelle Obama has remained extremely popular among Democrats since former President Barack Obama left office, but despite her political work, she has firmly denied any intention of running for office herself.
"Absolutely not," she told the NBC's "Today" in October. "I have never wanted to be a politician. It's one of those things that nothing has changed in me to make me want to run for elected office."
"But there are lots of way you can serve beyond running for office, and I think that's absolutely what she's devoted to doing," Jarrett added.
