Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, criticized comedian Chelsea Handler for posting a video that made fun of the appearance of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
"This, to me, is just like adult bullying," Love told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program on Monday.
"You sit there and see how adults behave and you wonder why children are mimicking what adults do. I mean, she is absolutely objectifying women by doing this. I think that it's absolutely inappropriate," Love added.
Love said that liberals only want diverse people that share their viewpoint.
"They want women involved. They want diversity, yet if you think for yourself, if you think differently, if you are a conservative, that's not the kind of diversity," Love said.
"So they feel like they need to take down conservative women."
The congresswoman said she herself has faced political attacks in her own district. "They got a white, middle-aged male to go after the one diverse woman that we have in the Republican Party," herself.
"It's really divisive politics," she added.
The congresswoman credited Sanders for "being a strong woman in a strong position," and shared a message for Handler.
"Not only are children looking at what you are doing, but if you are going to be on TV, and you are going to be some sort of an example, a role model, you should exemplify what we want America to look like and how we want America to treat each other," Love told Fox News.
