U.S. border agents have arrested for a tenth time a Mexican citizen who is a previously deported convicted felon, Fox News reported Friday.
Sergio Nunez-Barrera was picked up by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents in the Great Lakes region, officials reported Thursday. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for burglary charges by the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office, the article explained.
Nunez-Barrera, whose age was not provided, reportedly admitted he had crossed the border illegally into the U.S. in 2014. His arrest record dates back to 2000.
"This is [an] outstanding example of our law enforcement community working together and taking a criminal off the streets," Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison said in a statement.
