Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for Senate in Tennessee, continued to dismiss pop star Taylor Swift’s announced support for Democrat Phil Bredesen in the race.
“What we know is that Tennesseans care about the story of their life, not the story of their day. And really what they’re focusing on is our positive message,” Blackburn said Wednesday during an interview on “Fox & Friends.”
“They like this message of less regulation, economic growth, good constitutional judges.... They are remembering finding out some things about Phil Bredesen and the sexual harassment scandals that plagued his administration with some of his cabinet.
“Our message is getting through.”
Swift had declared her support for Democrats next month in a positing on Instagram.
"As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn,” Swift wrote.
