LIGNET: Venezuela's Chavez May Steal Election, Call Out Army

Although opposition candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski may be positioned to defeat Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in elections to be held tomorrow, two out of three Venezuela experts consulted by LIGNET believe Chavez will not accept an election loss and will either fix the vote or ignore the result and use the army to remain in office.

Chavez’s health — he may be dying from cancer — has undermined his campaign and has raised questions about his successor and the future of his socialist political movement if he holds on to power.
