Enemies inside the White House and out are working together to undermine President Donald Trump and his agenda, and the Obama administration "was complicit" in trying to keep him from being elected, former Trump campaign managers Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie, authors of a new book about the matter, said Tuesday.
"We asked the president do you think that President (Barack) Obama knew what was going on this 'insurance policy," Lewandowski, who penned the book "Trump's Enemies: How the Deep State is Undermining the Presidency," with Bossie, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."
"His answer, and look this is the only book in the first two years of his administration he sat down and gave on the record interview for, said 'yes, I think he knew.'"
Lewandowski noted that the new book is about the "intelligence community's assault" on Trump's campaign and what they did to spy on Americans.
Bossie added that Trump, in the interview, went on to talk in depth about how the FBI and agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page in particularly leaked information to the media and then used the stories that were written to expand their investigation or to seek FISA warrants.
"It is so unethical," Bossie said. "It's against the fabric of what the FBI is about."
Trump also had trouble with some of the people he brought in to his administration, said Lewandowski, specifying former National Economic Advisor Gary Cohn and ex-Press Secretary Sean Spicer. He claimed that in public, they supported Trump, but "behind the scenes" they were subverting Trump's agenda.
"It's a privilege and honor to serve inside an administration, and to use your own desire to thwart the will of the 6 million people to vote for a president is shameful," said Lewandowski.
