Larry Kudlow, the director of the National Economic Council, is expected to return to work Monday, CNN reported.

"We are really excited to have him back," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement to CNN.

Kudlow is a former Wall Street economist and TV host who joined Donald Trump's administration earlier in the year.

The economic council director was released from the hospital June 13 after suffering a "very mild" heart attack.
