Louisiana Republican Rep. Jeff Landry slammed House Speaker John Boehner today over the fiscal cliff deal that passed Congress overnight, saying President Barack Obama was able to get the Ohio Republican to flip on his promises.
“The president was able to get the speaker to undo everything he had promised he would do and he would do for the American people over the last Congress,”
Landry told CNN’s “Early Start” today.
The package extends former President George W. Bush’s tax cuts for families that make less than $450,000 annually and doesn’t tackle entitlement reform, deficit reductions and the country’s borrowing limits, Landry complained, according to Politico.
“I’d like to believe the president is heading us down a road of economic stability, but look, last night puts us on a road to economic calamity,” Landry said.
