Democrats have wanted to impeach President Donald Trump since the moment he became president, and now they want Attorney General William Barr to break the law by releasing an unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller's report, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Friday.
"This is a man of honor," the California Republican told Fox News' "Outnumbered Overtime" host Harris Faulkner. "This is a man who served as attorney general before...the first thing they asked him to do is break the law, to actually put everything in the report out when the law does not allow him to do that."
McCarthy said Republicans want to be sure that the methods used to gather intelligence is "not given to our enemies" and that grand jury information isn't released when someone is not indicted.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is upset that Barr won't release the report, but she hasn't said "one thing" about Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif. and the two years of how he lied," said McCarthy.
Schiff has said he has evidence of collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russia, said McCarthy, but he doesn't believe him.
In addition, McCarthy said, Democrats haven't accomplished anything in the first 100 days they held control of the House.
"They spent 20% of their time on this floor during resolutions, not doing bills," he said. " Think about if we spent 20% of that time lowering drug prices or lowering of the health care premiums, or working on an infrastructure bill...they've become radical, very resistant, and all they do are resolutions."
