Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Thursday challenged Univision and Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos as to whether he is as transparent as he calls on other media outlets to be.
During an interview on "The Kelly File," Ramos repeated his call for all journalists to refrain from being objective in their coverage of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"It doesn't matter who you are — a journalist, a politician or a voter — we'll all be judged by how we responded to Donald Trump," Ramos said in a Time magazine piece.
In his appearance with Kelly, Ramos told her that she successfully took Trump on as a moderator of the first GOP debate in which she "took a stand" by challenging Trump on his past treatment of women.
Kelly responded that she was not putting her opinion into the debate, but merely asking a tough question.
"Is that what you're advocating," Kelly asked Ramos, "that we as journalists should inject our opinions?"
"When he said that a judge simply because of his Hispanic heritage cannot be part of a case simply because of his heritage, that's a racist remark," Ramos said.
Kelly then asked Ramos whether during his coverage of the election he discloses that his daughter, Paolo Ramos, has a job with the Hillary Clinton campaign.
"I've disclosed that many, many times," he said. "In other words, that's [Paolo's] decision, and I have absolutely nothing to do with that."
Ramos said the fact is also disclosed on Univision's website.
