Eric Trump: Johnny Depp Should Deal With His Own Problems

By    |   Sunday, 25 June 2017 05:38 PM EDT

Actor Johnny Depp should deal “with his own problems,” Eric Trump said Sunday during an interview on Fox News after Depp joked about assassinating the president.

"You see Johnny Depp and what he said, you know, 'assassinate the president.' Johnny Depp has his own problems, he has his own problems. Why don’t you go back to making movies and doing your own thing?" Trump's son said during a segment with host Maria Bartiromo on Fox's "Sunday Morning Futures."

Depp on Thursday at the Glastonbury Festival in England asked the audience, "When was the last time an actor assassinated a president," then later apologized for his "bad joke."

His comments came weeks after actress Kathy Griffin posed in a photo holding a bloodied fake head that clearly depicted Trump and the Public Theater in New York sparked criticism for including the gory assassination of a ruler who resembles Trump in its modern interpretation of William Shakespeare’s "Julius Caesar."

Both Griffin and the photographer Tyler Shields issued a public apology.

Depp has been accused of domestic violence against ex-wife Amber Heard.
