Kathy Griffin will hold a news conference Friday to attack "the bullying from the Trump family she has endured" since she posted a photograph showing the comedian holding a fake bloodied head of President Donald Trump.
The presser was announced Thursday by Griffin's attorney, Lisa Bloom, on Twitter:
The tweet also said Griffin would "announce the true motivation" behind the photo session.
Griffin, 56, came under fire after TMZ posted the picture Tuesday. It was taken by controversial photographer Tyler Shields.
She was slammed by the president – and first lady Melania Trump said "a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it."
CNN fired Griffin from her co-hosting role on its annual New Year's Eve program, which she has worked since 2007 with Anderson Cooper.
The Secret Service also opened an investigation into Griffin's post.
Griffin apologized in a tweet later Tuesday, but Shields said Thursday he stood behind the picture.
