"Jihadi John," the British ISIS terrorist seen in videos beheading innocent captives, may still be alive, his former university reveals.

The jihadist, also known as Mohammed Emwazi, was believed to be killed in a drone strike by the U.S. in November, 2015. He was one of four ISIS terrorists, who was heard speaking with British accents. They were dubbed "The Beatles."

According to The Independent newspaper in Great Britain, "Jihadi John's" former school, the University of Westminster in London, is refusing to release any information about him, saying it doesn't have definitive proof he is actually dead.

"In response to a (Freedom of Information) request made by the (British Broadcasting Corporation) asking the University of Westminster for Emwazi's electronic records, the institution argued releasing the information would be "unfair" on the grounds, he may still be alive and it could be an "unwarranted intrusion into the private life of a young individual", the Independent reports.

And the BBC noted the school is still unconvinced about his death despite confirmation from both President Barack Obama and ISIS itself that the terrorist was killed.

However, all this evidence was considered insufficient by the university management, who maintained: "To date, no authoritative confirmation or evidence has been given to the university, or made public, that the student known to the University of Westminster as Mohammed Emwazi is now dead," the BBC added.
