Jeb: I Would Not Roll Back Iran Deal on Day One

By    |   Saturday, 18 July 2015 12:50 PM EDT

Jeb Bush said Friday he opposes the Iran nuclear deal, but won't move to to undo it on his first day if he's elected to the nation's highest office.

“I’m deeply worried about this agreement because I think it’s going to create the possibility of nuclear proliferation in the region and a much more unstable Middle East that will impact us,” he said, Politico reports.

"One thing I won't do is just say as a candidate: 'I'm just going to tear up the agreement on the first day.' That sounds great, but maybe you ought to check in with your allies first," he said according to CNN.

"Maybe you ought to appoint a secretary of state, maybe a secretary of defense," he continued. "You might want to have your team in place before you take an act like that."

Speaking to reporters after the appearance, Bush added, "If you're running for president, I think it's important to be mature and thoughtful about this."
