Comey Warns Lies About FBI's Work Will Do 'Lasting Damage' to US

By    |   Wednesday, 23 May 2018 11:17 AM EDT

Former FBI director James Comey took to Twitter on Wednesday to issue a warning about the lasting effects of "attacks on the FBI and lying about its work."

Comey was responding to the uproar over the use of a "Confidential Human Sources" against the presidential campaign of Donald Trump in 2016.

The president has continued to pummel "Spygate," saying it's part of the deep state network to undermine him and his presidency. Trump has solicited his Justice Department's inspector general to investigate the operation.
