Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) supporters have shared a new propaganda picture threatening Presidents Donald Trump of the United States and Vladimir Putin of Russia, Newsweek reports.

The image, attributed to Al-Wafa Media Foundation, was distributed on various ISIS-supporting channels with the encrypted messaging platform Telegram. It shows two bullet-ridden pictures of the presidents and an unidentified person holding a gun in between, and written in Arabic: "Lie in wait for them at every chance to ambush. The Levant is the graveyard of the Russians and the Americans."

Mia Bloom, who heads Georgia State University's Documenting the Virtual Caliphate project, told Newsweek that the image appears to have originated from a user known as Ibn Al Dawla, meaning "Son of the State," who posted it on the Telegram channel Fi Sabil Allah, meaning "In the Cause of God." She also said that it was unlikely that it was made by an official ISIS media outlet, and that it's one of the few to show Trump instead of his predecessor, President Barack Obama.

"Only up until literally a few months ago, ISIS was still featuring images of President Obama," she said. "It's like, hey, did you know we have a new president? This is one of the few ... to use Trump's face."

Bloom added, "it's also interesting because it equates Trump with Putin."
