LIGNET’s Wurmser in Tel Aviv: Iran Major Factor in Gaza-Israel Conflict

David Wurmser, a former top advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney, told LIGNET in an exclusive phone interview from Tel Aviv today that Iran’s support for Hamas is a major factor behind the hundreds of missiles fired on Israel from Gaza over the last week.

Iranian-supported Hamas factions will likely extend the violence, he said, and while the West will put pressure on the militants and Israel to end the violence, that pressure is more likely to accelerate the timeline for an Israeli invasion of Gaza.
