Indicted Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., did not receive the local Republican Party’s endorsement, Roll Call is reporting.
It marks the first time Hunter, who has served six terms, has failed to win the endorsement.
Hunter is set to go on trial in January for allegedly misusing campaign funds.
However, none of the Republican candidates vying for the endorsement won the San Diego Republican Party’s backing, according to Roll Call. All failed to meet the threshold of two-thirds support from the party.
Hunter said he has no plans to drop out of the race.
“I’m going to stay in my district and fight and fight and fight,” he said.
