The House Oversight and Judiciary committees announced Thursday that Hunter Biden will appear for a closed-door deposition before the panels on Feb. 28.
Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, made the joint announcement.
“His deposition will come after several interviews with Biden family members and associates. We look forward to Hunter Biden’s testimony,” they said in a statement.
The date comes after Biden skipped out on the first deposition date that was supposed to be Dec. 13. Since then, the House and Judiciary panels approved a contempt of Congress resolution but then paused in order to work with Biden’s attorneys on a new date.
“As part of the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, the Committees on Oversight and Accountability and Judiciary will conduct transcribed interviews with several Biden family members and associates in the coming weeks. The Committees are continuing to work with James Biden’s attorney to schedule his appearance,” said Comer’s and Jordan’s statement.
That schedule so far:
- Week of January 22: Mervyn Yan and Rob Walker
- Week of January 29: Eric Schwerin and Joey Langston
- Week of February 5: Tony Bobulinski
