The House of Representatives will vote next week to repeal a last-minute executive order by former President Barack Obama that provided federal funding to Planned Parenthood.

The vote to repeal Obama's Title X order under the Congressional Review Act is scheduled for late next week, The Washington Examiner reports.

President Obama finalized the regulation in the last weeks of his administration, barring states from withdrawing federal funds from clinics that provide abortions.

"The federal government should not be sending taxpayer dollars to abortion providers, and it shouldn't force states to do so either," Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California told the Examiner. "Overturning this regulation from the Obama administration not only allows states to freely choose pro-life policies, but will protect the lives of the weakest and least powerful among us."

McCarthy said that the vote focused on "protecting life and stopping the federal government from forcing states to support abortion."

Before Obama's order took effect, 15 states had defunded Planned Parenthood on their own, the Examiner reports.

McCarthy insisted that the legislation to be voted on next week would not keep women from receiving reproductive care.

It, however, would allow states to use Title X money for "other community health centers and hospitals that offer more comprehensive service," he said.

In addition, the Rev. Franklin Graham called on voters to pressure legislators to end funding for Planned Parenthood and its "wholesale slaughter of innocent life."

"Every life is precious to God, and should be to us as well," Graham, head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Samaritan's Purse global charity, said on Facebook.

"How do they keep on slaughtering little ones, and yet portray themselves as health clinics?" he asked. "Death is their prescription."
