Former U.S. President George H. W. Bush has been admitted to Methodist Hospital in Houston, hospital spokeswoman Stephanie Asin said Thursday.
The 88-year-old is being treated for bronchitis, officials said Thurday.
The condition is not life threatening, according to chief of staff Jean Becker.
“His big problem is a chronic cough, he can’t get rid of so he’s back at Methodist,” Becker said. “This is not a life-threatening illness.”
She said that there was early concern that his cough would turn into pneumonia, but it hasn’t.
Bush is expected to be released this weekend, according to Becker.
