Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's favorability rating has plunged to a new low of 32 percent in the latest Gallup poll released Tuesday.
Once known as "America's Mayor" because of his leadership during the 9/11 attacks, Giuliani's negative rating is at 45 percent, a new rating in Gallup's poll on President Donald Trump's newest personal attorney.
Gallup's rating of Giuliani also includes the years 2004 to 2008.
Giuliani joined Trump's team in April, vowing to bring an end to Russia special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation "for the good of the country."
He has vigorously bashed the probe and has taken a more aggressive stance toward Mueller and related agencies, including the FBI, in defending President Trump amid the media reports on the probe.
Gallup's latest poll of 1,520 Americans was taken June 1-13 and has a margin of error of 3 percent.
However, the organization's first surveys of Giuliani were in 2004 and 2005 found nearly two-thirds of Americans had a favorable view of him, twice as many as do so today.
In December 2006, months before Giuliani declared he would seek the Republican nomination for president, his likability ratings were higher than both parties' leading candidates, at 77 percent.
