'Classy As Always China': DIA Tweets and Apologizes After Insult to POTUS

The Defense Intelligence Agency's Twitter account tweeted out a snarky criticism of China before yanking it off the feed — and calling the post a mistake.

"Classy as always China," the tweet read, linking to an article in The New York Times about a confrontation between a White House aide and a Chinese official on an airport tarmac in China, The Hill reports

In the clash, a Chinese official tried to keep President Barack Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, from walking to the motorcade as she crossed a media rope line, speaking angrily to her before a Secret Service agent stepped between the two.

The DIA, a spy agency within the Pentagon, issued an apology as well.

"Earlier today, a tweet regarding a news article was mistakenly posted from this account & does not represent the views of DIA. We apologize."

Some Twitter posters thought no apology was necessary at all, as a screen grab of the original DIA tweet went viral.

Another mocked the DIA response.
