“Happy 4th Mr. President” trended on Twitter – for Barack Obama, Newsweek is reporting.

The Independence Day greetings came after the former president wished his 107 million followers a happy holiday on Twitter.

“Happy Fourth of July, everybody!” Obama tweeted. “This is always a great day in the Obama family: a chance to celebrate America — and Malia’s birthday, too. Hope all of you are able to get some time with friends, family, and fireworks.”

One person tweeted: “Happy 4th Mr. President! Missing that dignity, honor, kindness intelligence and LOVE.”

Another wrote: “When you read Twitter over your morning coffee after discovering that the ‘Happy 4th Mr. President!’ trend is really about President Barack Obama.”

Newsweek noted that President Donald Trump also received many holiday wishes, but not quite enough to go as viral as they appeared to do with Obama.
