A modern-day James Bond has been charged with dodging Florida highway tolls by using a remote control shield to cover his license-plate number while driving past toll cameras, according to RT.

Key Largo's Robert Craig Davis, 70, was arrested Nov. 17 after police tracked down his vehicle and found a remote control that is used to cover his license plate on command, so that toll cameras cannot identify his vehicle to bill him for traveling on South Florida tollways, RT reported.

So much for that.

Davis' gadget was broadcast via video over social media and shared to 58,000 followers, per the report.

Using video from a local TV station sent to authorities, police tracked down Davis and his vehicle, per RT.

Sgt. Carlos Vanegas and colleague Dennis Gallo conducted the search of the vehicle.

“The actions of the defendant showed an ongoing course of conduct with intent to defraud the SunPass toll system," Gallo's police report read, the Miami Herald reported.
