The bombshell book on President Donald Trump's first year in the White House has sold 1.7 million copies, according to the publisher, The Hill reported.
Henry Holt, a division of MacMillan, said in a press release that "there are now 1.5 million hardcover books in print after 22 printings" and that the supply of the book is catching up to consumer demand.
"Fire and Fury," by author Michael Wolff, paints a chaotic picture of the president, his top aides and advisers, and his family. Some of the contents caused a major fracture between Trump and former chief strategist Steve Bannon over comments Bannon made in the book, including calling Trump Jr.'s meeting with Russian officials in Trump Tower as "treasonous."
Trump has slammed the book as untruthful and called Bannon, "Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job."
The book's popularity soared after an excerpt was published days before its release, and hardcover copies sold out in stores almost immediately.
