The FBI on Tuesday released a new video timeline detailing the movements of a person of interest in the deadly mass shooting at Brown University, offering the public a clearer look at the suspect's actions before and after the attack.
The roughly six-minute compilation features more than a dozen surveillance angles captured from home security cameras in a residential neighborhood near the Ivy League campus in Providence, Rhode Island.
According to the FBI, the footage begins around 2 p.m. ET Saturday — nearly two hours before the shooting — with the individual walking east on Manning Street before turning south onto Cooke Street.
During the next hour, the person of interest is seen roaming the neighborhood, repeatedly passing the same homes and lingering primarily along Cooke Street.
At one point around 2:16 p.m., the individual appears startled by a passerby and abruptly doubles back, behavior investigators say may be significant.
The FBI said the shooting occurred at approximately 4:03 p.m.
Moments later, surveillance video shows the suspect walking through Lot 42 toward Hope Street.
The final clip in the timeline captures the individual heading north on Hope Street at about 4:07 p.m.
A dashboard camera also recorded the suspect briskly walking past police vehicles on the Brown campus just minutes after the shooting was first reported.
Additional footage shows the stocky-built man moving past emergency responders' vehicles as he fled the scene, according to investigators.
Providence police separately released enhanced video footage providing a closer look at the person of interest.
Police Col. Oscar Perez urged the public to pay close attention to the suspect's body movements, including the way he swings his arms while walking, as those details could help identify him.
On Monday, the FBI announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
Authorities described the person of interest as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build and released several still images pulled from surveillance video.
The shooting left two people dead and nine others wounded.
One of the victims was identified as Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama who served as vice president of the Brown University College Republicans.
The other victim was identified as Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Uzbekistan whose family now lives in Virginia.
