Former President Barack Obama’s political organization will merge with Eric Holder’s National Redistricting Action Fund, The Hill is reporting.

Obama’s Organizing for Action is folding itself into the action fund – giving the group run by the former attorney general control of Obama’s list of supporters, donors and volunteers, according to The Hill.

The merged organization is launching a campaign called, All On The Line, to promote redistricting reform and participation in the 2020 Census.

Holder told The Hill that the merger of the two groups is going to "help us have activists all over the country who are fighting for fair maps and more representative democracy."

The Hill noted the group will train volunteers and activists in ten states at the heart of legal battles over fair ways to draw legislative boundaries. Those states include Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.

Holder said he is legally precluded from using the list of supporters and donors for his own political purposes.

“This is not about any one person's political objectives or anything like that,” Holder said.

He is expected to soon make a decision on whether to join a growing field of Democrats seeking the 2020 presidential nomination.
