Elizabeth Warren Slams Trump Over Birther Comments

Sen. Elizabeth Warren lashed out at Donald Trump Friday on Twitter after the Republican acknowledged that President Barack Obama was born in the United States — asking: "How can anyone believe a word that comes out of his big mouth?"

Here's the rant of the Massachusetts Democrat, a frequent Trump critic:

Trump declared earlier Friday that "Obama was born in the United States, period" in seeking to lay to rest the longstanding controversy over whether the president was born in the United States.

Trump's statement came at the end of a rally at his new Trump International Hotel in Washington. He had gathered numerous Medal of Honor recipients at the event in front of a military audience.

"Now, not to mention her in the same breath, but Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy," Trump added. "I finished it. I finished it. You know what I mean.

"President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period," he said. "Now, we all want to get back to making America strong and great again."
